| While she paints a variety of subject matter, Anne's paintings and pastels of children have gained tremendous popularity. Her love of children and the birth of her first grandchild inspired these popular pastels and watercolors. Lured by her dramatic colors and the moods created by her lighting, the viewer is taken back to "Times Remembered".
Anne Vaclavik is from the village of Fillmore, in upstate New York. Her home is located 10 miles south of scenic Letchworth State Park, overlooking the Genesee River. This location has been the inspiration for many of her river scenes. Her landscapes and gardens depict the natural beauty of surrounding Allegany County. She paints in both watercolors and oil and renders many of her works in pastels. A graduate of Buffalo State College, Anne earned her teaching degree in Art Education. For 32 years, she shared her love of art with the children she taught at Fillmore Central School. Working with children has always been one of her greatest joys. Anne's work has won numerous awards and can be found in private collections both nationally and internationally. Each year, Anne exhibits her work at many art festivals throughout New York State. Her work can also be viewed at her studio in Fillmore, and the Nan Miller Gallery in Rochester. |
